Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals concise easy-to-master techniques for the at-home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has also worked at many of the best restaurants within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. The Culinary Institute of America is where she went after earning an English degree and a Communications certificate in Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful experience. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a fantastic place to study. After graduation, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. When she was in Italy she acquired an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine. It made a huge impact on how she views food. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to enhance the quality of life for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about children's diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the US to talk about her passion for cooking as well as her profession. Anne, throughout her entire experience in the kitchen, has declared that it is a privilege to be in a position to share this passion for life with others.
